Maybe some of you are wondering how can you get your hands on a copy of "Monsters of Patagonia" or its Spanish language version "Monstruos de la Patagonia".
Well, it is quite simple:
Visit the website of my editor Sergio Zagier at www.patagoniashop.com or e-mail him info@zagier.com.
You can pay for either of the books using your credit card or Pay Pal, both from Argentina or from any other country.
Alternatively, they are available at Amazon.com: Monsters of Patagonia and Monstruos de la Patagonia.

Will the book be available for purchase at the stand of Patagonia Sur Libros at the fair?
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance!
Pablo,
ReplyDeleteYes, it will be available.
Thank you!

I've been studying the Yahgan language for almost 15 years, and have one of the largest resource sets for the language. This includes a classified word list commissioned by the US government (Bureau of Ethnology) from the late 1890's where the word Lokuma is defined. The source was a man who worked in Ushuaia with the missionaries there in the 1870's. I don't believe you know this one. Jess Tauber goldenratio@earthlink.net
ReplyDeleteIndeed the only published resource that I knew about on the Yamana (or Yaghan)language, was the Yamana - English Dictionary written by Rev. Thomas Bridges during the period he was in charge of the Anglican Mission at Ushuaia. I believe it was printed in the 1930s (Father Gusinde). More on this dictionary and a manuscript version online:
